4 Way Test Speech Contest
Each Spring, the Rotary Club of Florence conducts a 4-Way Test High School Speech Contest. Florence area high school students (public, private or home-schooled) in grades 9-12 who care about ethical standards and behavior are invited to share a subject they care about by participating in the Rotary International 4-WayTest Speech Contest. Three finalists are presented with certificates and cash prizes totaling $1000 at a Rotary meeting. The winning speaker is also invited to compete in the district level contest.
All participants will be required to take the Rotary 4-Way Test and apply it to real life throughout their speeches. The 4-Way Test has four principles:
The choices for topics are endless…would the Super Bowl pass the 4-Way Test? What about your homework assignments? How about social networking? All speeches must be original and may not be less than 5 minutes or more than 7 minutes.
